DKV Mobility is launching a new toll box equipped with 4G technology. This move by the international mobility service provider is a response to the announced shutdown of outdated 2G mobile networks in several European countries. Switzerland, for example, will be the first to introduce a new 4G-based toll system in 2026 for heavy-duty vehicles over 3.5 tons. Other countries including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Norway have also announced plans to discontinue their 2G-based toll services by the end of 2030. This upgrade is part of the broader European Electronic Toll Service (EETS), which aims to simplify toll payments across borders with a single device and contract.
The new DKV Box Europe 4G can be easily swapped with the existing 2G cable – just plug it in, and you’re ready to go.
